Financial accounts are part of national accounts and describe financial balance sheets (assets, liabilities) and flows (purchases, sales, amortisations) of all sectors of the national economy. Statistics are produced by combining a number of register and data collection data. Data are published quarterly and once a year.

According to Statistics Finland, the accrued pension entitlements of Finland’s statutory earnings-related pension scheme stood at EUR 821.8 billion, or 343 % elative to gross domestic product, at the end of 2019 with a real discount rate assumption of two per cent. The pension entitlements grew by EUR 21.3 billion from 2018. The pension entitlements of the earnings-related pension scheme of private branches were EUR 558.5 billion and those of public branches were EUR 263.3 billion.
